Franco Harris, an American football player who played for the Seattle Seahawks and the Pittsburgh Steelers, was born on March 7, 1950, and passed away on December 21, 2022.

The Pittsburgh Steelers selected him in the opening round of the 1972 NFL Draft. His first 12 seasons in the NFL were spent with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He became a  Pro Football Hall of Famer in 1990.

The legendary running back’s funeral arrangements have not been instituted yet due to the fact that his passing is still fresh on the minds of his family and fans.

Harris won the NFL Rookie of the Year award back to back in the ’72 and ’73 football campaigns.

He averaged 5.6 yards per carry while gaining 1,055 yards on 188 carries for 10 touchdowns. Fans dressed in army helmets bearing his number and referred to themselves as Franco’s Italian Army.
