Kate Upton is the cover girl for the 2012 issue of the SI (Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue) and to make this possible, she had worked hard in terms of workout. Justin Gelband is the person behind her success, who trained her 5 times a week. Justin Gelband, who has also trained Candice Swanepoel, says that

Kate Upton started her proper workout 3 months prior to the photoshoot for the SI issue. Justin Gelband made her go through circuit training, which consists of many intense exercises for short duration. This is a great way to develop your body curves and killer looks because different exercises will develop different muscle groups. Kate’s circuit training consisted of 8 to 10 exercises in a single circuit with a 30-60 seconds rest in between the exercises.

Justin Gelband has made his own method of workout called ModelFIT, which fits every client with little customizations. Also, Gelband says that “Different bodies require different exercises. So, don’t copy this routine as it is. You may need some different approach to shape your body. So, be careful.”

Justin Gelband focuses on Blood Type Diet (It is a diet created by Dr. Peter D’Adamo which identifies the best nutritional diet according to your blood type. Kate Upton splurges on ice-cream, cupcakes, and French fries. She says that there is no special diet, which she takes. But she tries to eat proteins, oatmeal, salads and stay away from red meat because she doesn’t like it. Remember, she eats a healthy diet and tries to include all the minerals required for increasing metabolism of the body. These minerals also provide sufficient energy to keep the body active and assists in fighting the fatigue. Proteins are necessary to build muscles, so she doesn’t skip them and takes them as much necessary.
