Angelina Jolie Hints Shell Quit Acting After Next Role
Yesterday we reported that Angelina Jolie’s new Disney movie Maleficient is doing quite well at the box office. The movie had a tremendous opening weekend as Jolie triumphantly return to the big screen after a four year hiatus. Despite the success, don’t get too used to Jolie appearing in movies as it appears she may be done sooner rather than later…
According to reports, Angelina Jolie is currently working on a Cleopatra biopic that could be her last acting role ever. The 38-year old admits they are still working on the film, but strongly hinted she could be done. It appears as if the movie still has a ways to go:
“We’ve been working on it,” she teased when asked about the long-rumored film, which Oscar winners Ang Lee and David Fincher had previously expressed interest in directing. “There have been lots of different ideas of directors and lots of different discussions.”
As for her acting career, don’t get it confused – she has no intention of withdrawing from movies completely:
“I became an actress because my mom wanted me to become an actress,” she admitted. “It took me until my mid-30s to realize I actually didn’t. I actually wanted to write and direct and be more involved in politics and humanitarian issues. I’ll do a few more films and enjoy it…but I’ve never loved it like I love other things.”
Must be nice… Jolie doesn’t like acting and making of millions of dollars so she’s going to write and direct and make millions of dollars. If only we all had such options. Jolie has had a solid acting career, but how will her next phase pan out? Do you think Angelina will be a better writer and director? She’s certainly off to a good start.
